Note: this text refers to the book “The return of Merlin” by Deepak Chopra and to the idea that every choice creates a “parallel” reality.
Imagine what it’s like to be able to see
All the threads and all the knots of the tapestry,
All that has been and that will be,
all the choices and possibilities.
To know that the man I loved loved me back,
That I never met him and never cried like that;
That my father never left and that I was never born;
That I kept my baby and never had an abortion.
To have to fight every step of the way
To remember which reality I am in that day.
To have to pretend he doesn’t love us back,
When I have memories of happiness intact.
